Environmental Journalism | Why Local Matters: Storytelling

At the heart of many news stories today, issues of environmentalism are uncovered, even when at first they may seem unrelated. This course teaches the value and importance of exposing the links between events and their environmental context in an engaging and relevant manner. Under the guidance of former BBC senior journalist Catherine Mackie, Guardian Media’s Patrick Greenfield, and many more experts of environmental journalism, participants will gain the tools and knowledge needed to spot “environmental links” in their news stories, utilize solutions-based journalism, and hone techniques of telling these stories.
